Kenosha area

The city of Kenosha plus the rest of the county: Pleasant Prairie, Bristol, Salem, Paddock Lake, and Twin Lakes.

Photo for illustration; not a current listing

Kenosha has a lot of range: older city homes near downtown and the lakefront, newer subdivisions toward the interstate, and more land and lake properties out west toward Salem, Paddock Lake, and Twin Lakes.

For first-time buyers, the older city stock is where condition matters most. We look hard at the basement, the sewer lateral, electrical, and the roof before we talk price.

For sellers, buyers here often compare across town lines. Pricing has to account for that, which is why I pull current comps instead of using a portal estimate.

Kenosha area questions

Which towns does the Kenosha area page cover?

The City of Kenosha plus Pleasant Prairie, Bristol, Salem, Paddock Lake and Twin Lakes. Each has its own local government, so taxes and rules can differ from one side of a town line to the other. We check the actual tax bill and local rules for each house.

Can I commute to Chicago from Kenosha?

Yes. Kenosha is the northern end of Metra's Union Pacific North line into Chicago, and I-94 runs along the west side of the county. Check current train schedules with Metra and drive the commute at rush hour before you buy.

What should first-time buyers check on older Kenosha homes?

Start with the basement, the sewer lateral, the electrical, the roof and the furnace age. Older city homes can be good value, but condition drives the real cost. A general inspection plus a sewer scope is a smart baseline on older houses.

Where do I see current Kenosha listings?

On the Yoo Realty Group team search at searchmidwesthomes.com. Those listings come through the team’s IDX and are refreshed regularly. Text me the addresses you want to see, and I will set up the showings.
